coral id plz

    any idea the name of this coral? its not a ball of coral half of it is bold fill with some hair algae, is it dying?

    kinda like the way it look but wondering if its healthy or dying of some disease eating it away.. any expert on this? should i take it home?

    It's a goniopora.

    I would stay clear of it, doesn't look too healthy.

    k cool thanks for the info yea i was thinking something about its health too ive seen similar coral but it was a complete round ball shape.

    that goniopara does not look good, the algea will eventually spread through the whole skeleton :(. i have a baby goniopora for about 8mos, when i got it it was the skeleton was alittle smaller then a penny it has been doing good the size of it is now is about size of a quarter. never thought it will make it this far but it growing. well if u like them and want to get all i have to say is good luck and keep ur water in the best posible condition.
