    Hello
I am looking at buying the rock with the pink coral on it. But I don't know what it is. Does anyone know what this is?
    Thanks

Its Anthelia, it will quickly overgrow your tank.
EDIT: Curt beat me to it!

Looks like common waving weed - i mean waving xenia.

Unless you have a way to control it's growth (on an island rock on the sandbed not touching any other rockwork) dont get it.

I made the mistake of letting it in my DT (DUUUHH!!!!) and now it's EVERYWHERE and it's gonna be a WAR to get rid of it.

    Thanks for the quick replies.

If I was to keep it as an island, do you think it wouldn't spread to others?

I kept it as an island for quite a few years. (My clown liked that and my toadstool). Then one night right in front of my eyes, the hitchhiker red-eyed crab from heck (Eriphia sebana) came out of the rocks, cut a bunch off like it was trimming a hedge, shoved some in it's mouth and then ran back to the rockwork. Unfortunately the ones it didn't eat floated off in the current. AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Luckily that's not a very common hitchhiker.

    LOL....nope. That was loooooong ago.

Last year at the store, I heard a yell from one of my employees as they were backing away from a tank. He yelled, "What on *&&**#% is that monster". I looked at it and said, "That's an Eriphia sebana". They looked at me in amazement that I knew what it was but they had no idea how many hours I spent to ID the one I had years before. I took him home and put him in his own 5 gallon tank for quite a while but he was starting to get too big for that. Then I moved him into the predator tank.

Mine dropped polyps once the colony outgrew the rock it was on. Those polyps were blown around the tank until they eventually settled. I freakin hate anthellia

That stuff spreads all over my tank without any"trimming". Every once in a while I will see a piece flowing with the water. Then 2 weeks later there are 12 pieces growing on a random rock.
