So for some reason my ballast is making sort of a humming noise. Ontop of that my brand new 10000k bulb is not working (was flickering last week). At the moment i just put a Full Spectrum bulb in with my 50/50 Actinic 36W total. Will this be enough for my zoas, shrooms, kenya tree, anthelias, xenia. Im a bit bothered that this bulb has only worked for maybe 2 months? I think i will talk to my LFS and see if they will replace the bulb, i dont have the receipt but i still have the box for the bulb. Also i have a 6700k bulb would that work better to keep my corals alive in the meantime?

If the fixture is new it should be under warranty and Coralife should replace whatever is bad. Check and make sure the new bulb works in the other socket. Check the wiring in the non working socket and make sure the wires are not loose. If it is used you will need to replace the ballast soon out of your pocket.

pretty sure i dont have a warranty on this fixture considering is was from bigalsonline and wasnt a super nice fixture. It is used, been using it since december. The wiring is all fine, it has stopped humming but the other bulb still doesnt work. How could a brand new bulb just stop??

for the moment until i talk to the LFS about replacing the bulb.... should i be using a full spectrum or 6700k daylight with my 50/50 actinic. The full spectrum/actinic definately makes the colors pop but it looks real dark. whats the best for the coral growth at the moment?

You could use the 6700k for a little bit, but that temp is great for growing algae, so don't use it to long.
