It is very sad and very profound. I think about it this way: I am sure we have all witnessed a flagrantly mistreated coral survive and rejuvenate. Most of them are actually pretty tough to kill. The fact that they are dying in such great numbers in the oceans means that we have really messed things up!

If you think further, nature must intend for species die-off (think dinosaurs), in order for evolution to continue. If you take our "little piece of the reef" tanks, can we (with quality care) continue a prolonged lifespan for these animals, or is this just an extended death to a species that can live for hundreds of years?

every thing in life will pass but, when you get old it all depends on what you eat.

While man has done damage, people have to remember that its not too late to reverse, and it won't become too late until it's all gone or we throw in the towel, which we can't do now. We have to keep up hope in the face of all of this death to our beloved coral reefs, which can be very tough.

Just trying to think positive :)

You know when you think about it, Nature can be brutal sometimes, like natural disasters and what not. But then humans create hell on earth like these natural disasters are not enough.

I hope i see a change in my lifetime, but people have to stop believing in miracles first.
