Thanks so much for the help bacause I do not think I have time to go out and buy one. The problem is I do not have an RO/DI filter...unless....I do have a water dispenser on my refridgerator that filters the water. Is it ok to dip it in that water. How long? Reg. Temp. used? Any other tips on dipping would be great!

I only fw dip my zoas. I see things start falling off my zoas and start dying within seconds. i leave them in ther for about 30 seconds to a minut. i read somewhere that normal tap water works better because it kills the parasites faster, dont know if there any truth to it or not though

I think the fridge filter water would work but the only problem is the water temperature would be to cold. I always use room temperature water because my appartment stays close to the same temperature as my tank. Ive herd people dippin them for up to 3 minutes but I think thats too long. Id keep them in there for 30 seconds to 1 minute, since they will already be stressed from the shipping

thats just what I do since i usually get small zoa frags but some might do it longer with bigger colonies. ive always had success with just about a minute dip. I also use a turkey baster to blow them off a little bit while there in the water to make sure I get everything off

Thanks so much for the help! The cold water will just be made warmer by sitting out in room temp. I will dip for 30 seconds like you said because I am going to order small frags. Thank you for the help!

no problem, you could dip them a little longer, like 1 minute wouldnt hurt it, better safe then sorry. Ive seen people do it for up to 3 minutes but if its being shipped its gunna have enough stress from the trip. theyr pretty tough though, I know some places ship them wrapped in wet newspaper

Personally, I don't like FW dips, but if you do choose to do one, you really should use some buffer in the water to match the pH to your tank. pH shock will do a lot more harm than the good that the FW dip is doing.

And Coral Morphologic is a quality place. I've ordered from there several times; never a bad experience.
