I'm a beginner at salt water and I have just added 2 corals. One of the corals are very bubbly long strand ones with arms coming out the side of it.. and it has polished in the tank after just 1 day.. however, the other one, I believe it's some kind of polyp coral.. ever since i took home last night around 8pm, almost exactly 24 hours ago, i've seen one or two strands of the polyp corals coming out and that's about it.. any idea how i can get the coral to feel more comfortable? i've tried having very strong light directly on it and dimming the light for it and neither has worked.. please help me out

A few questions need to be answered before someone here can help you out.

When was the tank set up?
    How big is the tank?
What else is in the tank?
What kind of lights do you have?
What kind of filter system do you have?
What are the parameters of the water?

Second of all, you should never buy a living organism unless you know exactly what it is and how to care for it. Not knowing these things is like having a 6 year child take care of a baby. I don't mean that in a demoralizing way it's just the fact of the matter.

Oh yeah, can you get pics up? That would help a ton

with out knowing anything about your tank. just some general info; corals can take days to weeks to return to normal after being added.

do ur homework. if you are new to the hobby chances are you just bought what looked nice, if thats the case u are probably doomed. for just starting out i would limit it to mushrooms and star polyps and go from there. if you dont have the correct water conditions and lighting the corals wont stand a chance. pics would help!
