So i saw a red planet coral on 3reef and became very interested! i emailed my LFS and they said they would order me one and they said that they would put it on hold. It will be a O.R.A Red Planet 1.5 to 2.5 inches that they are getting in next thursday! Can't wait! If you have a red planet i would love to see it!! The price was $89.99. I thought it was reasonable cause it is ORA and online it would of been $69.99 plus $34.99 shipping. So excited! :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The RP is a good easy acropora and one of my top favorites. Once acclimated and encrusting it can grow quickly and offers a lot of color.

Congradulations on your RP you will be pleased. :)

    LOL that is nice.

Six months from a 3/4 inch frag, and honestly that is some slow growth. I had to do some experimenting to get it to grow.

Just looked at your thread about it. Awesome! Slow? You mean it can grow faster than that? Is it true that the bigger the coral gets, the faster it will grow? I have a few SPS frags and they are sooooo slow! What are you doing to make them grow so fast? So many questions for you. :)

I have seen it grow faster in other tanks.

Most say it has to encrust the plug before you get the vertical growth and I agree. And yes all my acopora or sps are growing faster as they get larger, more surface area I guess.

I dose Parts A/B every 2 days and Magnesium in between. My values stay the same but as the corals grow I have to up the frequency of the dosing.

Decreased nutrients, intense lighting and pretty strong flow.

My system is not high tech, pretty simple compared to a lot of sps tanks.

    :)
