What do you prefer for a nano tank (20 gallons). to purchase a bunch of small frags and let them grow or buy big corals and fill the tank with big ones. And by the way were talking lps and softies no sps

small frags are more fun. not as much accomplishment in buying big colonys. home grown coral all the way for me.

In a nano, definitely a variety of smaller corals.

i say a mixture I voted big colonlies as I like to see what I have in there with a 100 gal looking for sticks is a PITA IMO. but for a smaller tank I would buy a few of each.

Small frags. I get way more enjoyment watching my creatures grow, whether it be fish or corals. I still get small fish and frags even with my new system. Plus, when the corals are smaller, you can fit more of 'em on your rocks ;)

voted small frags also - if you go for large corals, you will run out of space and then see a coral, you really wish you had room for

small frags and dont be in a hurry to have it all set up, get the corals you want, rather than corals the shop has on any given day.

Small frags. Also the coral will grow more naturally into your tank with the flow/lighting etc, sometimes you see some large colonies in tanks that just look out of place and I wonder if they were just plopped in there after the fact and not grown out from a frag.
