This is the Coral I need to remove from the plug and get it on something more sturdy, If you look at the base, it does seem it might not be to hard to get off, but I am very nervous about doing so. I don't want to grab the Coral, so would maybe if try to pry under the base with a knife I can get it off.

I have used a slightly different approach but the results are very good for me. Snip the post off the plug. Get some small pieces of LR rubble and glue them around the frag. This accomplishes two things. One it helps hide the ugly frag disk ,two, it makes the frag much more heavy and easier to place and glue to a larger rock in your system.;)

The operation was a success I guess, Will that Coral depend on the glue holding him in place for now on or will eventually he find way to attach himself also?

It will grow over the glue in time.

What do you use to snip the post off the plug?
