Anyone know of a nice hardy coral that is not the color of Xenia or colt coral.. Trying to bring some color to the tank but want something hardy. I have a 120 with 2 x 150 MH. so if more light is needed I'd have to go middle or top shelf.

Zooathids come in all different colors, very hardy and cheap(unless someone out there is being greedy!) candy canes(caulastrea) mushrooms, and the list goes on.....

Fungia comes in some nice colors. I got an orange one that is so orange I can't believe it's a living creature. Under actinics it glows fluorescent. Some are purple, classified as "easy".
Brightest thing in my tank. I would post a pic ,but it doesn't look the same in the pics.
I'm thinking about the Yellow toad stool leathers... some are very yellow. Brains are nice and colorful.

The hardiest coral is probably green star polyp. Wish mine would take over the whole tank :)

GSP are great. Some of my favorite corals are Trachyphylia Brains, Hammer, Green Bubble and Torch. Very colorful and they get quite big. Just about any LPS but Elegance should work and they are very colorful. Im personally afraid of Zoanthids because of their potential dangers, but many people have them in their tanks with no trouble. Lot of good coral options out there with MHs.

if you look, you can find very colorful softies.you can get mushrooms in about any color.you can get red colts and you can get blue, yellow, green, silver, pink and brown xenia.garf.org collects and sells many different colors of xenia.there are many different colors of finger leathers.sinularia comes in bright colors, and kenya.you can get neon toadstools.don't be afraid to ask your lfs to look for specific corals or colors,or ask when they get shipments in so you can have 1st pick.

Brains or Acans will add a punch of colour. But with your tank so new and so many fish added so fast I would give it some time for everything to stabling first

Yeah.....I like the GSP, Zoas.....you can get some chili coral (that actually likes to be out of direct light and 'opens' at night). Some doughnut corals are colorful (higher end). But there are some very nice greens and reds out there to choose from. Ricordea is another colorful choice.

But, as Jason stated, your tank is a bit young.......I would wait awhile before moving forward. Let it mature a bit.

Avoid GSP IMO, or at least keep it segregated to the point that it wont infest your entire tank and smother the rest of your livestock to death. It would take a long time, and a lot of neglect on your part, but GSP can be a nightmare. Branching GSP on the other hand tend to keep it's base to a minimum adn shoots out in long stalks, almost like an acro.

Euphyllia(frogspawn) are also a nice addition to any reef. They have a potent sting so be sure to give them plenty of space. Also note that you can keep all types of euphyllia together. I have a collection of 5 different types of frogspawn(about 40 heads), and a colony of hammer(10 or so heads) all together. It makes a nice flowing ball of color.
