CITIES doesn't deal in MO fish, so what guidelines/studys/quotas would you be referring to?

Who know MAC would be apart of something like this, well not none of the people who PAID them for certification. This was a HUGE stab in their back!

And currently, they have no stateside CDT that is worth a legal damn, so how can they prove fish are dirty (cyanided)? They can't confiscate anything, till they have that worked out. BTW, you can't test every fish right now as the current CDT (Cyanide Detection Test) requires one to put the fish in a blender. What, kill all fish that enter the states?

Gresham in the description of the bill it refers to the term "covered by". this term is further described as those things covered by cites. Know that MAC only covers fish, I would assume corals and inverts are covered by the cites as listed. I do think this Bill is something that should open the eyes of the industry and hobbists, but I dont think it can pass as written. You cant just close the door on a multi billion dollar industry in one fell swoop. Or change something that has been operation for over a century. I agree with you that know wouod be a good time for dissension from both the industry and the hobbist, but I think this bill is going to be re written many times before implementation of some kind.
The one good thing that has come from it is that MAC has finally been shown for what they really are.

Yea MAMTI does have plans. The main problem is that the hobbist market posses the least threat to Reefs as we know them, yet they feel they need to reform it. The vast majority of the problems still come from the Phil. and mostly deal with fish when relating it to hobbists. If you look at the netting operations that MAC was incharge of putting together for that region it shows the basic problem that MAC does not have the ability to do it.

Its a scary read but still on both counts way to far reaching in my eyes.
