I've ordered on the 9th but the guy shipped monday 12th just to make sure they'll make it, with express shipping (next day delivery). The corals got stuck for 2 days somewhere in texas and they finally delivered them today, 5 minutes before my apt office closed and could not get to them in time. All together, they will be in that box, at the time I pick them up from the office tomorrow a total of 3 days. I'm not sure if he's shipping with heat pads or not, but I'm really concerned they'll have a very hard recovery ahead, if they recover at all.

THey're mostly Acroporas, but there's a ricordea and a pally as well.

WHat's your experiences with corals and the time they can survive in the shipping box?

Also, I've never ordered before online, and even though they're small frags, I know I need to do something before throwing them in the tank. Any advice? They're all pretty small (1 or 1.5" the biggest)

Thanks in advance for the help/advice.

Wow I know they can survive for like 1 day, But idk about 2-3 days. Just float them for 30 mins & Put them in your tank. If any are dead I would contact the vendor asap. Good Luck

I picked them up and I'm acclimating them right now. They all look fine with the exception of one of them that has detached from the plug, but I think it was due to shipping and probably rough handling. The shipper has a 1 hour after received warranty. Meaning that I needed to contact him with pictures within an hour of the DOA coral if that was the case.

I hope they all acclimate properly and that they will all be fine.

All acro's seem to be fine, I didn't notice any cloudiness in the water. The mushroom was completely closed up, so I can't say what's going on with it. But they seem fine. I'll update with any info.

    Thanks for the help guys!

I know acros ship very well, just make sure your water in your tank is up to par and should be ok. Do you notice any bleching on your acros?

Shrooms seem to be able to make it through a nuclear blast so...

They all seem fine. The shrooms are still closed, but I'm confident they'll pull through as none of the corals seem damaged or deteriorated in any way, other than the one that came off the plug.

I am now worrying about placement. Mind to share your experience on this?

Will they do better on low or high flow areas? And also, closer or further from the T5? Specially the acro's, I have other shrooms so I kind of figured out they like slow flow areas.

Here are my current readings + equipment:

Tank Size: 55 Gallons. Sump: 30 long w/fuge.
Total Net Water Volume: 65 Gallons
    Total Live Rock: 80 pounds
    Temp: 78
    pH: 8
    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5 (vodka, chaeto and mangroves are really working well together!)
    Magnesium: 1275
    Calcium: 460
    dKH: 9.3
    Alk: 3.31

Core Gear: Wavepoint T5 216 watts, 2 Actinic 2 daylight. Eshopps PSK-200 Protein Skimmer (rated fo 200 gals). Automatic Top Off System w/5 gallon RO/DI reservoir.

    Flow: IN TANK - 1 Koralia Hydor 4, 2 Maxi Jets w/flow deflectors (1 MJ600 and 1 MJ1200)
Sump: 4" DSB w/kitty clay, chaetomorpha, 4 mangroves.

Thanks again for all the help.

Oh!! My bioload isn't that much: 1 hippo tang, 1 purple firefish goby, 1 rainsford's goby, 1 oblique lined goby that has paired with my pistol shrimp.
Tons of snails, tons of hermits.
Corals: 1 Hammer Coral, 1 Plume Coral, Anthelia, Purple shrooms (about 10) and a single watermelon shroom.

    I'm adding: 5 tiny acro's, 1 ricordea shroom and 1 green pally.

    Thanks again!

Glad to hear they are doing well. I just got notice that a shipment of mine is lost in TX as well. Mine aren't as delicate as your's, mine are only magnets and have no risk of dying.

The shroom will be fine down low, the paly can handle just about any spot, the acros high and in high flow. Make sure the flow is not direct on the acros though.
