Hi, was just wondering. Is it worth to buy a coral that looks as if it is dying, at your lfs? (Other words buy it and try to safe / rescue it (I know it might take weeks / even months to recover - if ever).

For me it would depend on the type coral and the cost of said Coral. Is the cost down so its worth the risk?

If the price is way down, than yes, it COULD be worthwhile. The only problem is that a coral that is dying in their system could be finished off by the stress of moving it to a new environment.

IMO If you are not that experienced with coral care, I would pass.

Depends on why it's dying. I wouldn't want to risk introducing some specific coral disease into my tank.

I would take a zero and move on to the next one.
