When I made my weekly visit to the lfs last week I was very tempted to purchase an elegence coral. That is until I noticed rusty brown flartworms on it!!

Well the owner dipped it in some double streagth flatworm exit and they curled up and dropped off. He then placed it into the tank and dosed the entire tank regular streagth and the flatworms came crawling out of a few different corals. It took everything I had to NOT make the purchase I wanted but I have spent to much money and too many hours to risk anything to the tank.

Question is, can I trust the tank was successfully treated? It will be about a week since I was there and I would of course inspect very carefully. I also have a melanurus wrasse to help with unanted introduced hitchhikers but do not have a QT tank/system. I would ask him to treat it again in a seperate container before purchase to see if any more come out or if it is indeed clean but am a little concerned that doing that and then acclimating it might be a little much on the coral.

    What would you do?

would not buy anything unless I was going to QT

me personally nope I would not risk it

I dont have a setup or any extra equipment so it would be a whole big ordeal. I have bought many corals before from this tank and did find a single flatworm in my tank about a month ago on the glass on morning. Removed it promptly and havnt seen a single one since. Added the wrasse last week was a precaution for future problems.

where there is one there are normally more. there are good but mixed results from teh flatworm treatments and it just seems like alot of risk for you.

if he does do a correct dose over the next few weeks and there seems to be none when you look then I would still recomend to qt to try and keep them out. at the minimum a FW dip and FW exit dip.

Thats what I thought, Guess I will just stay away from it and try to locate another one somewhere or purchase the neon green bubble coral instead!
