Coralife 125 Super Skimmer micro bubble everywhere

I just installed my Coralife 125 Super Skimmer and i cant keep the micro bubbles from escaping every where. They come out of the bottom of the return box when i have it setup according to the directions. But if i put another layer of filter at the bottom of the box then they just over flow out the top, and a little out the bottom.

Is this part of the breaking in process or is something just not right?

 

yes thats how about every skimmer breaks in
if it doesn't clear up in a few days then something is wrong

Aw no Bogie! you took off the bubble diffuser?! When I was running my CR 125 as an over the side method, i loved having the bubble diffuser with the spongey material. Over the course of 6 months I had some type of turf (alsmost a bristle like- what looked to be cabbage looking) green-red algae that grew along the sponge right over the sides of the diffuser (must have received light from my- at the time- 2 x 54 watt PC's)... completely eliminated any nitrates/phosphates in my tank.

Then I moved and upgrade my tank and bought a sump... put my CR 125 in the sump, got rid of the diffuser, and here I am again- back to fighting phosphates/nitrates like a scrub!

 

I'm not in that league any more. I have a 180g now with a PM Bullet 1 running in a 40 breeder sump.
