Why would this skimmer be filling the collection cup with clean water? I use the overflow option and I can go through a gallon in a matter of minutes.I only have 1 fish. I bought this from a user here it was listed in th etrade section by Bogie it is still there if you were needing pictures of it.

It'll do that they are very finicky. Did you feed or add anything? Any chemicals anything foreign will make it do that. Assuming its in your display tank.

It will probably do it for awile just keep dumping the cup. Do you have it turned all the way down?(the red knob)

It sounds like you're describing wet skimming. It sounds like your bubbles are just too high. This happens when the top of the bubble production area is higher than it needs to be. I had the Coralife 125, and now have the Coralife 220, so I'm familiar with your skimmer. For mine, wet skimming occurs if the foamy region is about an inch into the tapered part--which is in the cup portion.

Does the level of your bubble production vary as you watch it? Are you able to set it and come back a few hours later and the bubbles are still where you set it for?

I'd make sure that your bubbles are no higher than the red threading device for the cup. If you have your bubbles there or lower, and are able to maintain this level, then something else is wrong. :-/

I use a coralife--make sure it is not sitting too deep in the water (Water level in sump too high) I am assuming it is in a sump. If the water is too high, it wont matter how low you set the level, it will overflow.

I have it set for a dry skim, the bubbles just fill the tube then th ecup. If I set it anyy different it just runs over faster.
