I have this set up on my biocube. I have it attached to a rock with a rubberband. It is sitting in the first chamber of my biocube with the heater and a bag of SeaChem SeaGel. I am thinking i should put it in the DT and not in the chamber cuz it seems like i am getting false readings. My heater is a Jager Temperature Sensor Automatic Heater. It is set to 76 and my readings on the coralife thermometer drop to like 73??? Is the heater in the wrong place, is the thermometer in the wrong place or are they both in the wrong place? It seems to me that the heater should be doing a better job!
    Any thoughts?

get a thermometer you know is accurate and check your temp with that first something like a digi meat thermometer

I had one of those coralife digital thermos. go bad on me. I would keep a good standard one around to compare to.

I do believe the coralife thermometers are known for being innacurate, however, once you know by how much you should be fine. You may just need to add 3 degrees to that reading.

ok cool. the funny thing is that i work at a coffee shop and we use Thermometers when we steam our milk! I have to calibrate these thermometers every week, with ice and water, which you know is 32degrees. So ill just bring one home and check the temps with it! And of course sanitize it properly before using it to make you a Latte! LOL
