    Katie,

I can't remember off the top of my head but, I have that timer myself and I will look at mine when i get home from work today. I believe it says you have 10 programable settings because I believe their is a way to have the day and or night go off and on multiple times throughout the day.

Katie,I believe I have the same timer as well and I had the same trouble as Pastey,it had to run a full cycle to start working properly.I don't know about the 10 functions, but when programming, you hit program once, then scroll through days to the right day and so on with the instructions til you've programmed all 7 days. When done, your lights probably won't be on,the timer has to run for a full cycle before it starts working right. Why?IDK,but on mine, the next day it started working flawlessly for a couple years now.(except for battery changes every 8 to mabey 10 months)

    1 is a on/off cycle by itself. I have mine set to ON @ 12pm and OFF @ 9PM.

If you want to create more than one ON/OFF cycle, you would use 2-7. I just use 1. At least, that's how I THINK it works.

Mine has been a real pain in the butt lately. Now when I set mine to AUTO (for automatic ON/OFF), it just stays on all the time. It's a quirky peice of equipment.

each number represents one day- #1on/#1off,when #1 is on the yellow outlets are live, when #1 is off,the blue outlets are live

Well say I want my lights to come on at 12pm then off at 8pm ( i work a weird schedule and like to be able to see my tank on lol ) So On at 12pm then off at 8pm? Plug my day lights in yellow, and night on blue? is that correct?

Yes. If it doesn't seem to work properly immediately, let the timer run a full cycle and then check it again the following day. For some reason, mine has a quirk where it won't work immediately after setting. I just had to reset mine this morning b/c it turns itself to "ON" any time it is set on Auto...no matter the time or how many cycles it has gone through. I don't know if the relay/switch inside was stuck or what.

I wish someone would make a quality power strip with 3 timable ports....full day, full night and dawk/dusk. [/offtopic]
