I was wondering, this guy is selling in a local toronto ad, Coralife Lunar Aqualight Deluxe 48", with the 4x54 watts with LED blue moonlights for $200 CAD. Is this a good deal? I want to put it over my 75G, but i think this is pc lights not t5, is it still a good light for a 75G if i want to keep soft corals, mushrooms, zoas and a clam that i would place at the top? let me know what you guys think please, thanks :)

I think it's a good lighting system. Though I don't know much about lighting the aquarium, I think that this still isn't sufficient light for clams but since ur placing it at the top it shouldn't be a problem. How deep/high is your 75g. don't hesitate to correct me on this if I'm wrong;)

I have Coralife PC's on my 65, and house mainly softies and some mushrooms in there. They are all doing great, and I love the lights. That being said, I don't think I would put a clam in there...they need a lot of light, and i dont think the PC will give you what you need. I would definitely not put a clam in my tank with those lights, but thats IMO.

anyone else have an opinion on this? 4x65 watts actually, sorrya bout the mistake, not a good enough system for clams and sps to be placed up high? should be good enough for zoas, mushrooms, torches, frogspawns and acans right?

I have 4x65 watt PCs on my 90. I am growing Leathers, Zoanthids, Mushrooms, Frogspawns, and Torches as well as a Trachyphylia and a Favia Brain at the bottom. I am growing softies and LPS at all levels of the tank, from the top of the aquascape to the sand bed. Those lights should be good for all softies/zoas/mushrooms and most LPS (Not Plate Coral or Elegance Coral). Clams and SPS, however, will not make it at any level in that tank. Good luck.

hrm okay, my 75G is only 18" tall though vs a 90G that is 24"
but if you think clams and sps won't survive at any level in that tank then i guess having a 18" tall tank doesn't make a difference either

I've been told time and time again that SPS and Clams are just out of the question. Sorry dude.

i have a clam in my 40G breeder
    96W PC HO lights
    65W PC HO lights
    42W T5 Lights
and it's holding off well with the 16" height and it's at the top 5 inches of my tank and it's doing okay but we'll see in the long run, but i was thinking of transferring everything from my 40G to my 75G corals rock and fish by buying this light
not to mention, i'll have this 4x65W PC along with my 2x54W T5 HO light, maybe that helps the clam becasue it hink the t5 HO will do the clam good

I've heard that it can take them a long time-up to a year- to waste away. IMO I wouldn't run the risk.
