I just tested a new batch of RO/DI water with a ppm of 4 made with Coralife and a salinity of 1.025. I get readings of 3000 for mag with the Salifert test kit. The testing has been done correctly. Not sure if a high mag level is a problem. I also tested for calcium and that's at 700! Has anyone else found results like this? I'm wondering now if I should change brands.

I'd report the lot number to the manufacturer and get a refund for sure.

Actually since I left that post I've read other posts from people here and at Reef Central and they have had similar complaints about Coralife's high mag and calcium level so it may not just be with this particular lot. And some of the posts were from a year ago.

Wow. My old tank ran on that stuff. Things grew like crazy. I never had any complaints. [smiley=worried.gif]
