    yeah, thats true thanks. i also dont have all the water in the tank yet. i only have the DT full of water, the sump/fuge/overflow has no water content. so im about 25-30 gal shy of the total water volume. i pulled the heater out, temps coming down.

    im at full water volume now

    DT = 78 degrees
    Fuge = 78 degrees
    SG = 1.022

    I have white residue built up on the glass in the sump area. to the point i have to use a scraper to get it off. its salt residue because i scraped it and put it into a cup and its dissolving. so, i have to scrub everything of this residue now. anyone else experience this? im kinda wondering if the salt could have reacted with something causing it to film onto the glass like that? i cleaned everything 3 times with hot water and paper towels. my TDS from the tap is 186. TDS from RO/DI output is 0.

    id take a pic of it and post it if my camera charger hadnt grown legs and ran off.

    Salt will quite often leave residue on the sides of the mixing container. Lots of people have complained about brown residue when mixing Reef Crystals.

    damn, well ill never startup a tank like this again.... this is irritating having to wait every few hours to scrap it up so it'll go back to dissolving....

    i added a micron filter bag to the intake to the sump to catch any debris. so far it got caked up with white salt residue. so ive been manually dissolving the bag contents in a seperate container to hopefully rid myself of this white mess i have in my tank.
