So I have a Coralife SNS 220g and 65g. The 220g empties from a plug under the collection cup. I have had no issue with this one. However the 65G model empties by taking the cup off. It doesnt clearly say where to take it off. But Im assuming its at the red bracket by the o ring. and It should twist off. Am I correct?

It doesnt want to come off and Had to empty the skimmer by taking it OFF the tank and pouring it out the top. Im quite ticked IMO right now.

If this is where it comes off at, (the red twisted bracket) Any tips on how to get it off? Because no one in my family can get it off :|

Thanks again! +K for whomever helps me get it off!

I have the 65, and you are right, the red ring unscrews. I found that if it has been a while since I had it off the threads can get some salt in them and be hard to get off. I got in the habit of unscrewing it once a week or so so this didn't happen. Also you can get a small airline fitting and drill a hole in the collection cup, then glue the fitting in place and you can now run some airline to a 2L pop bottle to drain the skimmate off just like the larger skimmer. Best of luck.

I also use this skimmer, if you overtighten it, or as stated above that it has been on awhile. It can be a beast to get loose. After you do get it loose, just snug it back on.

Any tips on as to how to untighten it? It surely is a beast, I dont feel like I over tightend it and its only been about a week and half... :|

If you can't get it by hand, the only thing I could think of would be a strap wrench, but I assume you don't have one lol.could try running it under hot water if it's still out of the tank.

Its back on the tank up and running. I plan to tinker with it this weekend. It had me so frustrated today that Im leaving it till when I dont work.. So trying to gather Ideas to get it undone. It is possible we might have a strap wrench. I will have to ask my dad when hes home from work though. If theres a tool and he doesnt have it He will buy it... So that may be a bad thing If i ask him for it and he doesnt have one, He will use it as a reason to go get a new toy ::)
