yea it will work good, not great but good enough. i ran one on my 55 for a little bit but upgraded to an asm-g1x later, but currently i am using the reef octopus nwb-110 (on my 37) and seems to be doing pretty good by me so far.

I had one on my 55, my 'trates dropped dramatically after getting it, and it pulled some thick skinmate for me. I would definitely recommend it. But as a side note, it's a pain in the ass to break in. Took mine about week and a half, and a good cleaning before it started to function properly. But after that, it worked like a charm! Good luck with it!

The coralife super skimmer is a decent one for the price. I ran one before I upgraded to the reef octo. One thing I did find was that you really needed to be able to keep the water level. If you have it in your sump in a place that water level fluctuates, you might need to keep "fiddling" with it to get it consistent and that can be a PITA.

I run the 65 in my 29's sump. It works ok but I'd like to get one that will pull out thick nasty oily looking skimate like the higher quality ones. For the money it is ok.

The reason you are not getting thick nasty skimmate is due to the fact that it is a 29. Your 29 is not producing that much as compared to the skimmer. My 65 on my 150g pulls real thick nasty stuff. It is not your skimmer, and buying a more expensive one will probably not increase the skimmate all that much.
