Coraline Algea Turning White

My Coraline Algea Is Starting To Turn White What Is It?

 

Im pretty sure its dieing. What lights do you have and how long has the tank been established? Did you start with live rock?What are your water parameters?

 

My Tank Has Bin Established For About 6 Months I Am Using Oddysea Lights,2-250 Hal.2-65 Watt Act I No Its Not The Best Lights But They Where Cheap.i Did Start With Live Rock.and The Coraline Algea Has Bin Growing Like Crazy Since I Started Using Purple Up.every Thing Is Growing Realy Fast But All Of A Sudden When I Did My Last Water Change All The Coraline On My Overflow Box Turned White And It Was Coverd.to Be Honest With You I Dont Even Check My Parmeters Anymore I Add Calcium ,purple Up Once A Week And Do Freaquent Water Changes This Has Worked So Far With Me.i Thought Maybe I Was Adding To Much Calcium.just Thought Maybe Someone Would No Exactly What My Problem Was.

 

The purple up is mostly iodine. What have you been adding to the tank for your calcium?? Sounds like it is low, have you tested for Ca or Mg??

 

Oyea I have a/ 72GAL.BOWFRONT/30GAL.SUMP/2-250WATT HALOS 2-65WATT ACTINIC(oddysea but it it works)250GAL.1000MULTI-TURBOFLOTER PROTEIN SKIMMER./OVERFLOWS,PUMPS ECT.

FISH[ 1-SAILFIN TANG 2-PERCULA 1-SIX LINE WRASSE 1-RED HAWK 1-GREEN MANDARIN 1-CLOWN GOBIE STARS ,HERMITS ECT

CORALS-BRANCHING HAMMER ANCHOR HAMMER GREEN BUBBLE ELEGANCE CORAL LOTS OF RICORDIA AND ZOOZ ALL GROWING REALLY WELL.

 

Calcium- Kent Liquid Calcium

 

I Havent Tested My Calcium For A While But I Add Calcium Once A Week.plus I Do Freaquent Water Changes.

Cant Spell.

 

Everything Else Is Doing Really Well The Coraline Algae Is Still Growing On Other Rocks But In Some Spots Its Turning White Mainly On My Over Flow Box . Could It Be From The Coraline Being Out Of The Water When I Did Last Water Change?

 

Nevermind Todays My First Day On Here And I Just Checked Another Post And It Answerd My Question.looks Like It Will Come Back Thanks Anyway.

 

Check your calcium. I think it has to be one of your parameters because the tank has been established for 6 months so i dont think its the lights.I dont think coraline dies that fast out of the water.
