coraline color shift

i had a rock that is completely covered with a beautiful purple coraline... it was in a shaded area. I aquascaped and placed the rock under more direct light. The coraline turned brown
is it dieing or why is it turning ugly?

 

Did you expose the rock to air fitting the re aquascaping ?

what exposed to air? that wont kill coraline not quickly n e ways. are you sure its not another aglae over the coraline?

Well i guess it will just grow back over it then?

 

no im positive i checked to see if it was just diatoms and i checked to see if it was some odd color of cyano... it is not either of the two

 

are you sure it isnt going a darker shade of purple? a pic would help.

 

well lights are out for the night but maybe tomorrow. ive been watching it for a week now and its brown... not purple at all

 

is the rest of your coraline ok,
sometimes if my ph or kh sucks the coraline dies off slowly
