That might be your problem.

If you're going to supplement your tank, be aware of the effects of your supplementation. In other words, dosing an item without testing for its levels is fruitless.

Totally agree Spary, If he's just throwing in "willy-nilly" and not testing for any thing.
Reef keeping 101 > you need test equipment and need to know how to use it.
And if he's just throwing a ALK buffer in without knowing where it is, its' most likely through the roof.
And you kalkwasser ?, how are you just "throwing it in there ?".

Alk - 3.5 to 4.5 ( target should be 4.0 )
PH - 8.3 ( and be targeted to that always )
Cal - 350 to 450 ( target should be 400 )
Mag - 1200 ( roughly 3X the amount of Cal )

If you test and practice good water parameters ,
you'll have higher success rates.

Well i went to the lfs and he sold me two white bottles calcium buffer told me to throw the measurement in once a week and sold me some purp up aswell but i have not yet used it in my tank. My nitrates are 20, alk is 240- 300, ph is about 8.0 .Maybee my nitrate are to high..... i have a 110 g with 9 fish 1 big naso tang medium to large salfin tang two small hippo tands two clowns and some damsels.... more water changes maybee
