Coralline Algae Dying

    Not direct, but high calcium can cause alkalinity to drop which can cause ph to drop. All roads connect in a reef tank.

    Have you added any phosphate removal products to your tank recently?

    LOL, well, I know that. My point was this thread and all discussion is beyond useless without an alkalinity test.... Why are we talking about ca and other things when we don't even know the alk? :lol:

    Ok sorry for no replies lately, but the coralline has been doing better. It comes to find out my girlfriend had added fresh water from tap in my tank. but I've since done two 30% water changes, red slime treatment, and also adjusted Grav lvl from 1.024 to 1.026... keeping a closer eye on it now. But, today i noteiced my coralline had spread more over my flat rock (nearly double the coverage) but the spots are back. not quite as white but very light near-white pinkish. What gives?! I now have a friend come to check my levels and add what needs to be added cuz of lack of time lately. (He also owns a salt tank. 80g reeftank) But he is gone for the weekend and i need help!
