coralline algae

    coralline algae turning white

    Hi :)

    My coralline algae is slowly turning white.

    Can anyone give me a place to start looking why this is happen?

    Got me. I have a couple of spots the size of a nickel where the coraline is a different color, like yellow or dark red, but I don't know what would make it turn white.

    White means dead.I'm sorry but I don't know why.I 'nearly' have a problem keeping mine under control.It even grows up off rocks like rose petals.Very pretty.

    I ass-u-me no changes in lighting or filtration. It may be due to lack of trace chemicals. I'm big on dosing Iodine and other trace elements to promote coraline.

    I feed Iodine and trace elements, once a week for my reef.

    no change in lights, and they are almost new lights.
    Altho i'm having trouble with hair alge, and i did try " wess alge". to stop the hair alge, it has stop the spred, but has kill the hair alge.
