Just wondering what other peoples experiences are with coralline growth under LEDs?
Coralline in my nano seemed to almost stop when i switched over to a boost par30. Corals seem to be doing mostly fine so i'm not saying the light isnt working, just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything similar (or the complete opposite) and if so, what are the specs of your specific lighting.
Theres obviously a good chance I can't blame my situation on lighting alone, but if its working for other people I can at least cross it off the list of possibilities.
    thanks :)

I started with all dead/base rock from reef cleaners and after a couple months I have just a little growing under my two boodtled par 30s. My base rock under my must 135 unit is starting to get coralline after just a couple weeks.....

I have two Rapid LED PAR 38's over a 30 breeder, with coralline growing everywhere. Mostly on the eggcrate and bottom of the tank. It does better out of intense light.

Thats interesting that you also noticed a difference under the boost par 30s coastie.
Good to know you guys are getting some growth under other units tho, was starting to worry about weather leds would be right for my 90 or not.

(sorry, sometimes tapatalk will pick words for me!)

My coralline is doing just fine under my Crees... I just got done scraping the glass clean from about 8 quarter sized patches. Tank has been set up since the end of February.

I always find coralline does best under dim to moderate, 6500K-10000k light. Regardless, once it gets a foothold it should take off, but under intense blue light, I find that can take longer.

I have found it to be slower on my PAR 30's but it is starting to catch on in the dimmer sections. I can see the coraline with the lights off much better for some reason

Well the switch from PC to LED really boosted my corailline. 2 large peices of base rock were covered in corailline within a month. I use a par38 over my biocube 14. its about 20" above the tank, so its not super intense IMO, but just enough. I've also tried 24" 15" and 18", 20" seemed to make everything happiest.

This is all great info. I am currently thinking of making the switch over to LED's and this thread caught my eye lol.
