coralline taking over tank?!? and zoas

    Ok update. After laying in bed thinking about what this might be I went out to living room and pulled the rock out of the tank that's in first pic second one. It appears that this stuff is growing around my zoas not over them and this stuff is hard as a rock couldn't break a piece off the rock.

    no excuse for it!lol im in denial! never had glasses, don't want them, but obviously need them! But i like your idea!

    yeah was only a mile away from the guiness record for longest wheelie on a vrod by a man when i had to jump off and help an old lady cross the street to stop a man from kicking a puppy holding a kitten!

    Does look like coralline and if it's growing around the zoas it sounds like it. Plus if the bulbs are old that would explain the taking off even with the light switch. It will grow in higher light but if it was a switch to higher light (ie. with new bulbs), you would have shocked the coralline and seen a die off before they turned around and began to grow again.

    Yes, it's coralline algae.. It's even growing of the glass.. Coralline growth is good, so what's the issue? Keep an eye on the CA, it will start to drop.

    I agree and can confidently say that definitely looks like cyano.

    I do agree that there seems to be cyano mix in there too.
