"They are mysterious guests from an exotic world. Unlike anything else we keep in an aquarium, they represent the essence of the coral reefs that we try to duplicate in our living rooms. Our success at this effort depends greatly on how well we understand these unusual life forms.

Unfortunately, for the average hobbyist, the increased availability of these animals is not matched by the information available concerning their biology and care. Too often, hobbyists know more about who manufactures their aquarium equipment than basic biological information, or proper identification of the animals they are striving to keep. And yet, without this information it is difficult to provide the optimum conditions that will allow them to grow and reproduce."

You got me all excited about running out and buying the "Aquarium Corals" set.

    Just checked on Amazon...

But WOW! are they ever pricey... (besides will be facing major household eruption if I spend any more mony on aquarium stuff for a while after just purchasing my flame wrasses which were not cheap.)

Will have to go on my "want to have for my birthday list" (which is already quite long :p )

Guess I will just have to be happy with posted article for a while. Is worth bookmarking and serious study.

    Thanks for tip.

    Scott

These books are great but unless you're in a situation where you have to i.d. a lot of stoney corals, there's no need to spend all that money :) Tangster uses our set alot but he's in the aquaculture business. I just like to look at the pretty pictures
