Also, with the sponges you must make sure they aren't exposed to any air at all! Even micro-bubles in your tank can cause serious harm to them and kill them. They also need to be target fed with plankton I'm pretty sure.

Thanks. I think they are pretty neat. Kind of like a shelf. I love the variety of colors. My faorite or the pinks/purples and sort of apple green. ::)

i have once heard of a pagoda cup referred to as a plate coral... i think it is just ppl making up a name for something based on it pattern of calcification.

That light should work ok, IMO, it's not ideal, but good for soft and lps corals. You may not get great color out of the monti cap. You may need to keep it high, but other then that, you should be good.

Thanks. yeah I think when most people refer to corals as 'cup' or 'plate they are referring to its growth pattern. This isn't a very specific way of identification, which is why i wanted the scientific name, the proper form of identification.

I beleive you're absolutely correct, which is why when I first tryed to search it (it was on that site actually) I couldn't find what I was looking for. Proper name usage is important.

I actually have not yet ordered the light. I plan to wait until late may to do so, As I cannot set up the new tank until we move, in late May to early June. But ASAP, I will. Can't wait! :)
