If they are on plugs you just super glue the plug to where you'd like and the coral will overgrow the plug and attach(encrust) the rock. Some like leathers or anenome not on a plug you just find a crevice and place the root or foot and they'll attach on their own. Search fragging and propagation you'll get the info you need. What corals are you refering to?;)

    Not a dumb question

    there are options

    1) if the coral you buy has a rock that its already attached to, then provided its heavy you can just place this rock on the rockwork you already have ( making sure its stable and cant fall or be knocked over)

    2) if the coral you buy comes with a small piece of rock or a plug - then using Putty - reef epoxy which is a 2 part mix that you work together (bit like playdough or plasticine) and then you fix that to the plug or small rock, and press the new coral where you want it ( it needs to be in very secure location or supported for 12 hours or so until the putty sets)

    3) you can directly use something like superglue gell to fix some corals to rock, underwater, but you need to work smartly as the glue skins quickly and sets fast, so you locate, hold for 30 seconds and then it should be fixed
if you press and then try to move, the glue will have gone off, so you have to remove and glue again ( glue has been the most difficult for me on the occasions I have tried this

Superglue gel is my favorite method of attaching things like SPS and LPS. scratch the roc up a bit to get any algae off it, then test fit the frag to it but just holding it where you are going to put it. then put a big glob of glue on teh base and stick it the rock. rub it around a bit to break the surface tension of the glue as it will form a film when it hits the water. hold for a bit and slowly release making sure it is stable. in 5 mins it will be fully rock hard. the coral will encrust over it.

Super glue gel for sure. Works very well for. I bought some putty and it just takes too long to set. Would work good for gluing small rocks together, but it has been tricky for me to get it to set.
