    :-/This may be a strange questions............but

I know a leather coral can take less light than a hard coral, but can the leather handle more light than a hard coral?

We almost lost most corals at tank change....the hammer was almost dead. It stayed the same in new tank took two weeks to bring up lights and it didn't change. Moved it down to bottom of tank and WOW! Within two days it's comming back like crazy. All the head are now full again, no skeleton is showing anylonger and it was within a week.

They are level with my leathers now on bottom of tank. I always kept the hammer higher up previously. Now I wonder if the leather can go up where the hammer was and can handle more light.

We are in the midst of changing the bulb set up again as soon as wiring harness comes in. They have 4 - t-5 for 12 hours (will soon be 6 bulbs for 8-10hurs) and 8 bulbs for 5 hours. They are overdriven so the 8 is too much at this time for my hard corals.

When i first picked it up from a friend it was only the size of a lemon at most and in a year and change turned to that monster.... It grew so big it casted a shadow over my tank and had to trade it in...

    VVkesu,
Keep in mind when your leather grows it will in time shed a layer of flesh kinda like we do after a sun burn.. Its normal for the coral to do the same....
    Good Luck...!!!

We've had leathers for a long time, I just wanted to make sure it could handle high light because my hammer likes it better down lower at the moment.

Things will change though because one light burnt out today....only had it 30 days (I've never had one burn out before). and we broke another on taking them out. Now we're short a couple of lights. It's always something !!
