    i pretty sure its called polyp bail out, and there is small possiblity that it could settle and begin to grow again. but im also pretty sure that they wont recover once seperated from the skeleton.

    and since you have 2 lps doing this, means thats something in your tank is off, prob way off to cause the polyps to bail. im not sure what exactly cause this but im sure one of the gurus can be more help.

    Thank you Blue.

    I am not sure what can be off!

    All readings are within range

    Temp - 25°
    PH - 8.2
    ALK - 220
    SG - 1.026
    Ca - 420

    Xenia is doing ok Rose anemone too. torche ok. Mushrooms ok. polips ok. sponges ok. fish ok.

    both corals look ok the Brain coral fully open once the lights go on as when attached to the skeleton. I haven't see the elegance opened yet.

    hmm were they located next to each other?, maybe they did battle.

    i think i heard about linear current can cause some lps to tear from thier skeletons. were they getting blasted from a powerhead or anything ?

    I've expirience polyp bail out before with a frogspawn. All other corals where 100% OK. I attributed it to lack of nutrients in the water. I moved the remaining coral to another tank and it recovered very well

    no both corals are pretty far from each other and the powerheads are at the top of the tank (not blasting any coral directly)

    Jason;

    That may be a possibility I do not add much suff in my tank other that Iodine and some coral food now and then.
