So last time I had a package of corals delivered to work a rainbow monti didn't survive (the other 3 corals i purchased did). My plan this time is to run home on my lunch break and attempt to get everything unpacked and at least temp acclimated.

I was just thinking of opening the shipping package and float the bags until I got home around 6PM. Do you think this will work? Should I open the individual bags and attempt to float them?

What would you do in my situation? There's nothing too expensive in the shipment, but loosing anything always feels bad.

Leaving them in the bag with light on them is not the best idea. The best idea would be to float them for 10 minutes while squirting tiny bits of water in the bag to try to get them acclimated on your lunch break.

if you must do this, at least keep the lights off for the rest of the day (even after 6pm when you finally get them in.

Well I'd just float them in the refugium. So light wouldn't be a problem. I was more worried about them being in that old bag water for so long.

As long as they were overnighted, I dont see a problem, let them float until you get home.

Guess I didn't have to worry about it, USPS failed to deliver the package.

Hows the survival rate on zoas and blastos after being in shipment for 36-48 hours? (If my delivery even shows up)

    :(

Whenever I order online, I always pick the corals up from the Fedex or UPS hub. The drivers are tards, and always seem to mess up on delivering. Couldn't you have gotten the packages delivered on your day off?

I normally work from home on Weds. but had to come into the office this week. I would have picked up from the hub, but the package didn't even make it that far! It was 'missent' by USPS. Guess we will see how everything is doing today...

Some do not allow pick-ups at the hub. Neither UPS or Fed-Ex here does. Besides, this was USPS, and if they are anything like they are here, that is guaranteed fail.
I am sure the zoas will be fine. Not so sure on the blastos.
