Hello Everyone, Just Wanted Some Coral Suggestions For The Future. I Have My Lighting In My Signature...i Know My Selection Is More Limited But Any Suggestions Would Be Great. And Can Anyone Tell Me When It Will Be Good To Start Adding Corals?

I'm running the 24 inch version of that light (along with an actinic).
I have a green star polyp that is quite happy and spreading. And just the other day I picked up some new frags. But since they've been in the tank only a few days I can't guarantee how well they'll do.

I used to have those lights on my 65 gallon...then put them on my 46 gallon when I upgraded to VHOs.

When they were on the 65...I had Green Star Polyps, Frogspawn, Hammer Corals, a Toadstool Leather...

They all did fine. Some zoos seemed to do ok under this lighting.... seems to be hit or miss... I get some... if they won't open in the 46 gallon..then I throw them in the 65 under VHOs.

I would stick more with softies. I have the 24" retro kit on my 20. I know they are enough for LPS but i dont want to risk any SPS. But thats on a 20. So on a 55 i would stay with softies for now...

I agree with the above post. Stick with softies until you familiarize yourself with other types of corals and until you can afford to upgrade your lighting.

i have mushrooms right now and some other hitchhiker corals that are doing good, I was wondering more about frogspawn and leathers. Would polyps be okay higher in the tank?

I would skip the frogspawn until your tank is more mature and go with the leather. As for polyps, it depends on what you mean by "polyps". There's a lot of different types :)

Regular button polyps would be ok... i had some in a 55 with allot less light than what you have. Leathers would do ok as well. Stay away from zoanthids they are mistakenly called polyps sometimes but they require allot more intense light maybe if they are way up top close to the light they could make it.
