Thinking about purchasing a snake as my late 18th birthday present, can't decide between an Eastern king snake (Lampropeltis g. getula) or a color variant of a corn snake (Elaphe g. guttata).

Any one here ever kept either type?

Get a lavender corn there sick
the cool thing about corns is they come in so many variety's and there pretty cheap. Only thing that kind of sucks is they stay pretty small this can be a good or a bad thing I guess

I was into snakes for a while til this hobby took over my life lol

didn't even see those, I was looking more at the "sun-kissed or Ultra" If I could get one that's actually lavender that'd be sweet.

Used to be a lizard/gecko guy before this haha so I feel your "pain";)

Yea I love snakes man and they honestly one of the easiest pets to take care of imo. Only thing easier is probably a betta lol. I always wanted to get into breeding them

I have both in my yard, geckos too. Cotton mouths, black racers, coral snake, rat, copperhead, rattle etc.

    Come take your pick, please.

On a lake in northwest Florida. We moved onto undeveloped roperty and built. Gators, snakes, hawks, owl, deer, rabbit, fox etc. Gator are gone, snakes thinned out, but everything else is still around.

I've had a lot of terrifying snake experiences.

Not a fan of amelanistic snakes. There was a 4' black rat snake in my yard two days ago, she was very friendly and let me handle her.
