I used to live in coral springs. We had to call 911 when a coral snake was found in our back yard hahaha

I had an Okeetee Corn Snake once. He never really liked being handled, though. Not sure if a King would be any better. Boas and Pythons seem more like true pets in that regard.

Beautiful, with the venom to kill 25 adults with 1 bite.

I want a king snake because I saw one once in Florida, and I thought it was one of the most beautiful snakes. Unfortunately I can't find any like it online.

    Favorite corn snake so far.

Not worried about handling so much as just ease of care, most websites seem to say they are both pretty easy snakes, I'm just trying to gather real people's experience :)

Most snakes are relatively easy, but the Native American species don't require quite as much heat and humidity as those imported from tropical jungles.

The big thing one needs to watch is their snake's weight. Snakes like to hunt and eat. Period. In the wild, they spend a lot of time and energy finding and catching their next meal. But in far too many cases, when they start hunting in captivity, they get fed all they want, and end up grossly overweight and dying prematurely from intestinal blockage or infection, or heart disease. When one starts looking heavy, it's diet needs to be trimmed.
