Guy's ,would this be a benifit to me !! Air purifier in the same room as 180g tank, fish only ??? It's a air zone generator that creates ozone by corona discharge !!!
The reason I am asking cause the wife is a hair dresser and sometimes people come to the house and she sprays all these chemicals all over the place!!! I converted one room so she can do her hair thing, but with the door closed I still smell the nasty stuff!!! And to be on the save side I do 60g water changes every month !!! 0-4 amps 48w,30CFM, Output per/hr 2000mg/hr

The Ozone will kill airborn bacteria and will to some extent brak down a solid partical of a chemicial but what do that broken down chmicial turn into ? May be harless in the form it was used from the can at the spary it was intended to But alter the molucle then who knows ?

What you will be far better off with a a good air filter with a Carbon filter . to trap and hold the chemicals .. Having designed and also installing many air filtrations systems for malls Drs and Hospital day cares and such even to bird Avery's The Ozone will kill bacteria but not solid particles or it may alter them as I said. Or you could build some system or if you have a forced air system in your home ? get filter grilles on the inlet supply and get some of the space guard 2000 filters and run the whole house air through the filters . Deveoped by NASA for the space shuttle they pull 99.99% of any partical from the air and you simply wash and reuse them 60.00 to 100.00 a pop but worth every penny .

For a few hundred bucks you can get a very good air filtration system that will not only cover that room but adjacent rooms as well. As stated before, make sure it has carbon as one method but it HAS to have HEPA filtration as well.

The other possibility mentioned depends on your furnace if you want an in-line version (as Tangster mentioned). We wanted UV, electrostatic and HEPA when we put our furnace in. What we settled for was UV and electrostatic as the house filtration and then we run HEPA and carbon though independent units. A lot of it depends on the kind of furnace you are running and what kind of clearance you have.

If you do decide to do the in-line variety and you are going to have a heating guy install it, get quotes. A lot of them. Just as an example, I needed a new heat pump and furnace a few years ago. I was looking at $12K to $14K. Then I got a recommendation of a one guy business. Yup. One dude. Does it all. Works out of a van. Sounds scary doesn't it??!! Yep. Sounded scary to me also, except I knew three other people personally that had used him for the exact same thing. His quote was 8K. With tax. So there is a HUGE descrepency. And he was the best decision I could have made. Have a problem?...call him at home.

So they are out there. Just be careful if you go that route. If you find the right guy, you can save a bunch of money and enjoy upgrades.
