Cotton Like Growth in Tank..?

    Was looking around my tank today, and notice this white cotton-like growth on the bottom of my rock and side of my frog spawn, here are some pictures I dont know how much justice they can do, they are super clear or anything, but it looks like small cotton balls, with a tiny little aptasia like things on top of them.. :confused:

    I believe those are pineapple sponges, a beneficial filter feeder.

    Lots of them showed up in my tank and then GHA came after that lol

    Just to make it clear to the original poster, the sponges didn't cause the green hair algae. They happen as well as GHA while your tank is establishing balances.
