could i graft coral

    same concept as skin grafting where you take a piece of something from a different place and glue or sew it in a new location and hope it heals correctly. In this case the OP is trying to fuse 2 coral together :)

    I would assume if one living thing can another might beable to. However you might need to stay within the same species. and do mixing colors or what not...

    It has been done with montipora species. Havent seen it documented anywhere with acropora though. Guess you dont know until you find out though. One would think you would be fine if they were in the same family. If you decide to give it a shot let us know how it goes!

    I saw a monti cap colony (I think it was on RC) that was grafted together. It was green, purple, and orange.


    I think this would be cool to see with some birdsnest.

    I've seen it (in articles) with alot of Acros. Sometimes it grows out lie you would expect, but sometimes it swirls and morphs the whole acro unpredictably!

    my lfs used to have a specialist that would sell these packs, he would have several kinds of monti all grown together, as well as some acros and birdsnests. they are really awesome looking.
