I have a green acropora that once had beautiful polyp extension which just stopped one day. It still has its green color and appears to slowly but surely be growing still. I have not seen a polyp extend for a month, but the green color is still there and there is no bleaching? Can this coral still be alive? It has literally been the same color but without polyps extending for a month..

    Thanks

is it algae green or is it normal tissue color green?

it could just not be extending its polyps because something is messing with it. try looking at night time if it has extension

I'm not an expert, but if I had to guess I would say yes. It still has color, did not bleach just not extending it's polyps. I'm sure your tested your water, so I would just leave it in and keep an eye on it. Maybe they are coming out late night. Hope all goes well for you.

Normal tissue color green.. Ill snap a pic. It was in some serious high flow so I moved it to an area of more broad flow.. Check back for the pic in a few mins

This is funny b/c a similar thing has happened with my montipora corals. It seemed like one day my monti's polyps just didn't extend as much as they used to. The polyps still extend, but just not as much. It seems to have affected all of my montis except for my undata and rainbow which were placed in later. The polyps have been that way for at least at month. The corals still have color and are growing, but the polyps just aren't extending. As far as I now nothing is messing with them and it's not affect any other coral.

That could be my case, my digi colony is right by my MP40. I have since reduced the flow for other reasons. I will wait a while to see if that helps.

It looks fine IMO, just no polyps. My digitata colony kind of looks like that, it is a little lighter in color then before b/c the polyps don't extend very much.
