Could my tank be that clean?

My 75 gallon has been up for one month now. About halfway into the first month my skimmer started pulling out waste. But now it doesn't even have a bubble head to push up into the collection cup. I put chaeto in the sump a week ago and that seems to be the time the skimmer slowed it's collection. I have one clownfish in the DT. All the rock is DIY and has yet to start growing coraline. I used Dr. Tim's one and only.

Plus if u feed lightly, you wont have much. My skimmer doesnt pull tons out anymore. Ive only got a pair of clowns and a damsel in about an 80 gallon system and i feed super light. Takes a week and a half to fill the collection cup

 

Agree it's possible, but I also can't ignore it stopped with the chaeto addition...

Did the skimmer pump impeller suck in some chaeto by chance? It might just be clogged.

 

My 46 bow has been fishless for a week (it is a QT currently) and it still pulls out some skimmate; I do feed every other day though as there are snails and a hermit. Do you stick your hands in the water a lot? Added any new chemicals? Is your air tubing clean and sucking air? Or did the pump suck up some Chaeto as mentioned.

 

If you're not putting that muh organically into the water why would your skimmer be pullin out any waste?

It also could be that the chaeto is taking up what little nutrients you're putting in.

 

The skimmer seems fine. It doesn't seem to have sucked up any chaeto.

 

My skimmer is producing very little at this point as well. My tank has been up for about 4 months or so now. During the diatom blooms it pulled some filthy junk. I'm really not sweating it. I wouldn't worry too much unless nitrates start to rise.
