hmmm 250$ seems like alt of money for a sump box, you can fasion on yourself for much cheaper. its really just a bin to hold water. i would look into it befor to drop 250 on a filter box.JMOI

i had that exact model and i really worked great. worry free. Auto syphoning negates the chance of flooding. well worth the money. i got rid of it cause i upgraded to 130 gallon tank. believe it or not but the small reverse current protein skimmer was well sufficient. jmo

I would buy a 20g long and convert it into a sump/fuge. That would run you about $70 and a little time. You could then get something like an AquaC Remora Pro for a few hundred bucks and have, basically, a top of the line set up. The skimmer they give you with that unit is, I have a feeling, third rate.

    +1 on PharmrJohn's advice.

I built mine with two 10 gal tanks because I couldn't get a 20 gal through the doors in my stand. Just drilled some holes and use PVS plumbing to connect them. Added an AquaC Remore skimmer.

You can see what I did here: Paul's Reef: Where have I been?

yeah i inherited the unit and cause nothing ever good enough, removed the plug on the side and sat the unit in a 30 gallon tub and relocate the return pump to the rubber container and infact used a remora on the side
