    The names of these are going to be somewhat arbitrary, unless you mean species. "Alien Eye Favia" doesn't say anything about it other than the general coloration. The species names of these happens to be less-than-important, because the care requirements of all acans is approximately the same, and the same goes for favia species and chalices.

    Got ya. So no matter where a coral comes from their care is generally the same is what you are saying correct?

    do you use any suppliments for your acan and favia. In my past reading people have used all kinds of different things like Marine Snow for instance.

    No, I meant that generally favia species (from genus favia) are going to be approximately the same, most chalices will be around the same, and most acans from genus acanthastrea will be ballpark similar.

    You had the names of the corals down before as soon as you asked the question.

    The crazy names of corals usually come when you paid too much for them int he first place. ;)
