you can usually tell if the LFS takes care of their stuff.
i go to this one place and it just looks terrible, cyano and algae everywhere.
other LFS is quite clean and sells a lot of fish every week. they have the occasional dead fish but its not too bad in their systems

Thanks for all the quick replies;D

Even though I failed to think it about it at the store, I totally understand the stress/acclimation factor of new arrivals. They did have a ton of fish so there is a very good possibility that it was a new shipment and a few didn't make it.

I also feel the same way about getting dead fish out of there immediately, if not for worry about the system then for worry about customers first impression. If I had help, I would have let them know. I too have a big problem with lack of customer service. But no worries:)

I tried to watch the fish for a while (tiger wardi goby) but he wasn't being active at all, none were (of the tigers). He looked healthy but he just wasn't moving enough for me to properly gauge.

As for the LFS, I go there a lot and this is the first I've seen anything to make me question buying there. Usually, everything is on the up so maybe I just timed it poorly.

Bottom line is that I didn't have a good feeling in my stomach, or mind, to make the purchase. And all that I've learned and read about since I've started in this hobby has made me know the importance of making a smart, and SAFE, purchase. There is always next time!

Peace of mind is the most important thing.
