    Nice tank frizza!

    joe:
Wouldn't a "big" water change like 40 gal be stressful to the fish? I see in your sig you run a 90 gal and given the displacement of water after factoring in the LR, sand and inhabitants the 90 gal would yield actual water volume of about 60 gal or so. So if you take out 40 gallons you would in essence be doing 60% water change. No?

sssnake, also running a 29 gal sump with about 25gal of water. total water in tank is around 85 which would be yes around 50% but sitting with my nitrates at 140 a big water change is something I believe is needed to keep them alive.

I started the water change on Tuesday and did 15 gal and yesterday another 20 galls and my nitrates stayed the same. See my post of update info.

Water change and still the same levels?

I too am trying to bring down my nitrates so I did a 20% water change recently, not very much of a difference as I tested again this morning. I am planning another water change for tomorrow, again about 20%. I have also cut down on feeding a bit.

Good luck Joe (wish me the same) :)
