I 100% agree with this Jason.

I bought one while back, it ate at the store very well as a matter of fact. I took it home, and it started to eat a little bit of food, but more importantly ate any aiptaisia I put in the tank, and quickly.

But sadly to say, it died a couple weeks ago after trying to get it to eat more in my tank. I had it for around 3-4 months, or so. While i never put 2 and 2 together, I suppose the tangs and other more aggressive eaters made it hard for it to want to eat.

A friend of mine, actually the president of the WRS had a copperband for a good year, and while that one ate about as aggressively as I have ever seen one eat, it went MIA a few weeks back as well. He had that one about a year, maybe a little more.

Then there is another guy in our club that got one that ate like a pig at the store, and it ate well at his home, and then started to devour all his acans and similar LPS. He took the tank down, set up a bigger thank then, and did not transfer the copperband to the 180g.

If your up to a hard challenge on successfully keepin this fish then go for it. But theres not too many success stories with em that ive heard of....

Antoher reason why their not too pricey.

That and they are still cyanide caught from Indonesia. That certainly does not help an already poor shipper.

Yeah they are fairly cheap.. The most expensive I've seen is about $50 at my lfs and it was an adult fish.

I'm up for the challenge.. I'm hoping it's not terribly hard though.. But I'll do my best.

And about it getting netted... How can the lfs catch it without a net?

If they don't know how to catch a fish without a net, I don't think I would buy anything from them lol. Most marine fish should not be caught in nets because of the spines they have. Tangs, butterflies, rabbitfish... If you really think about how many of them have spines of scalpels, there aren't to many that should be netted.

One more thing. See if your LFS can special order one from Australia. They usually ship much better and I don't think they use cyanide there.

They usually cost a bit more, but with a fish this sensitive I think it's worth it.
