I have been using this protein skimmer for a little over 72 hours now. The fine micro-bubbles that come with the initial setup of the protein skimmer are gone now and I have the water return adjusted to be half in the water and half out as suggested by CPR.

The only problem I was having is completely my fault by not adjusting the collection cup properly. I couldn't figure out why it was running completely wet. (This is honestly my first quality protein skimmer). I thought when they said have the collection cup 1/8" under the surface of the water in the chamber, that they meant the actual cup portion and not the base. I watched a different video today by CPR and they actually said the "base" of the collection cup.

I have the collection cup adjusted so the base is 1/8" below the water level now. We will see how this helps me out now. Either way, the water in the cup was like a pea color and you can tell it was taking out some nasty stuff lol. ;D

I forgot to mention that installation was very easy. The adjustment screws are very easy to turn and I was able to do it with one hand seeing as my tank sits against a wall and I could only get one arm back there lol. This skimmer comes most assembled and what isn't already put together is just plug-and-play.

All you really have to do is push the the power head into the intake pipe, attach the airline hosing to the power head, and put the o-ring around the collection cup so the height can be adjusted. Oh, you have to adjust the leveling screws on the back of the skimmer so it sits parallel to the back of the tank, but that is even really easy to do.

It is still pulling out some nasty green stuff lol. I can look at the top of the lid on the collection cup and just the green slime like stuff coating the bottom of the lid lol. I will post a pic of what I'm talking about in a little while when I'm doing my water changes.

What problems are you having? Only problem Ive had is that it seems evaporates water fast from the tank I fixed that by making a cover for where the bio bale goes.
